
We are living through a pandemic, but it's not what you think. This one doesn't attack the body; it infects the mind.
In Human Design, this is known as the "Not-Self," and it’s a pervasive mind virus that teaches us to be like everyone else, to be "normal," and to live a life that isn't truly our own.
This is the real pandemic we have been living through for hundreds of years, since 1781 when the nine-centered being emerged and replaced the seven-centered being.
The founder of Human Design, Ra Uru Hu, was stark in his assertion that humanity is largely "mad" due to this collective virus.
It’s a great trap rooted in the pressure to conform, leading us to a homogenized world where we lose our unique identity and the promise of being abnormal.
This mind virus doesn't just exist in the collective; it manifests in a very personal way through your open (undefined) energy centers. These are the places where you are most conditioned, where the not-self mind thrives.
Consider a few examples:
The virus here tells you to avoid thinking about things that truly matter. It keeps you in a state of constant mental busyness and pressure, so you never stop to ask the big questions. The mentality is: "If I don't think about it, maybe it will go away."
This is the compulsive need to be certain. The not-self mind, when conditioned, is terrified of uncertainty. It will create any lie, any story, just to feel like it has the answer, ultimately leading to a "blindness" to the truth.
Here, the virus manifests as the profound feeling of "I am not good enough."
It’s the constant pressure to prove your worth, to live up to promises you never should have made, and it’s a profound source of self-blame and a lack of self-love.
These are just a few symptoms of a far deeper problem.
This virus is a mechanical process that causes a "dysfunctional frequency" in your life, leading to a "lousy life" that feels heavier and heavier with each passing day.
The good news is that there is an antidote, but it is not a mass solution.
The transformation is a "one person at a time" endeavor, and the key is a mechanical one.
The only way to begin the process of deconditioning is to live your Strategy and Authority.
This isn't a philosophy; it's a practical tool. Following your Strategy and Authority acts as a "tuning fork" that corrects your frequency and puts you back in alignment with who you are truly designed to be.
It allows you to shed the inherited moralities and societal expectations that have been holding you back.
The mind virus is real, but so is your power to break free from it. The first step is to become aware of the not-self in your own life and commit to living your unique design.
